Hola! My name is Yahaira Zapata, pronounced Jah-Hī-Dah Sah-pah-tah; thanks for stopping by to check out some of my work.
I am a Brooklyn-born graphic designer, but Buffalo-raised. I proudly received my BFA in Communication Design from SUNY Buffalo State in 2017.
I freelanced for a few years before officially establishing as1 Studio (as one studio) in 2019, specializing in Branding and Web Design for social enterprises and organizations; website coming soon!
What’s a social enterprise, you ask?
It’s a business with social objectives. These types of businesses are driven by a social and/or environmental mission and reinvest profits into creating positive social change. It is not only my passion, but I believe it is also my responsibility to use my talents and platform to help promote positive social impact.
When I’m not tackling design projects, you can find me floating away on the dance floor to Salsa, Bachata, or Merengue, diving into books, or planning my next travel destination.
